Exterior and Performance
Producing up to 158 horsepower, a 1996 cc engine block propels the entry-level 2020 Civic LX trim. When revolving at 4,200 RPM, this I-4 powertrain generates 138 pound-feet of torque. Other notable design highlights of this naturally aspirated propulsion system include the i-VTEC SOHC valvetrain and multi-point fuel injection. All other trims run on a 1496 cc engine engine that spits out 174 hp. This turbocharged, four-cylinder powertrain cranks out 162 lb-ft at 1,700 RPM. Both engines in this Honda sedan operate on the Eco Assist System for maximum fuel efficiency. A six-speed manual gearbox drives the Sport model, and a continuously variable transmission propels all other trims. Paddle shifters are available for the CVT, which comes in two editions. Producing acoustic and aerodynamic effects, a wheel resonator is exclusively installed on the Sport model.
Interior and Technology
Heated front seats are standard in the 2020 Civic EX and EX-L editions. Passengers in the second row of the Touring trim enjoy heated seats. This well-appointed sedan also has a climate control system with two zones and heating ducts for the rear occupants. Most trims support the Smart Entry technology that works in tandem with an electronic key. The Walk Away Auto Lock function automatically locks all doors after a specific delay. Standard in all 2020 Civic models, the remote entry with a trunk release provides extra convenience for the driver and other occupants.
A 7.0-inch electrostatic touch screen is at the driver’s fingertips in most of the 2020 Civic trims. Some smartphone integrations in the updated infotainment system include Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto and Bluetooth® HandsFreeLink®. Additional mobile connectivity is available through the HondaLink® interface. This trademark portal delivers information on safety recalls, service appointments and an owner’s manual. You can also use the HondaLink® suite to request roadside assistance or send directions to the multimedia system. However, only the Touring edition has a GPS navigation system. You can tune into HD Digital Traffic broadcasts for supplemental travel guidance. Additionally, this high-end model boasts a 450-watt sound system with 10 speakers.

Safety
You won’t have to spend extra money to get the Honda Sensing technology in the 2020 Civic. By maximizing the pressure on the brakes in a critical situation, the Collision Mitigation Braking lessens your risk of a crash by detecting obstacles in the road ahead. This sporty Honda sedan also has the all-new Low-Speed Follow functionality in the Adaptive Cruise Control. If necessary, the updated ACC helps you slow down in a dangerous situation on the freeway. If you accidentally cross into another lane, the Road Departure Mitigation helps you steer the vehicle into the desired lane. Supplemental steering support might also be generated by the Lane Keeping Assist. Additionally, the Lane Departure Warning appears in the instrument cluster. Producing audible and visible alerts in the dashboard, the Forward Collision Warning is another standard feature that’s powered by Honda Sensing. High-level trims boast the signature LaneWatch® technology for enhanced views of traffic in surrounding lanes. All 2020 Civic models have the exclusive SmartVent® air bags that shield the driver and front passenger from side impacts.
